Update on “Daddy School.” The kids, so far, are diggin’ it. I think J was a little skeptical at first, but after the first day, he seems to be coming around. First day was working on writing skills. Now, for all you homeschoolers out there, let me be frank (Frank?). This is purely an experiment, more like “tinkering” w/ homeschooling. I know there’s curriculum out there, and a certain eb-n-flo about it. My main goal is to prevent the “I’m boooooooooooooored” from creeping in. I’ve already stated (mostly to J) that under no certain terms am I to hear that dreaded summer time curse, even if the moment lends itself.
BUT, having said that, if you happen to have some ideas on curriculum, sites to check out, projects, etc. let me know- I’m totally “shootin’ from the seat of my pants” at the moment! Currently we are looking to do some gardening, maybe check out some history lessons re: WWII, the Vietnam War (Grandpa’s & Great Grandpa’s from both sides) & the origins of the video game, letter writing, a video play, and HTML for J. We’ll keep ya posted on the progress!

Summer Break- Aaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!
So, this summer officially starts tomorrow………I’m already dreading it. I’ve been considering tinkering with homeschooling over the summer. J just completed his first year in the Challenge Program……with stellar remarks from his teacherĀ . Soph’s been expressing interest in reading/writing, so seems like a perfect fit, right? Enter the “B” factor. Adding a infant to the mix makes everything…..interesting. Especially when Soph’s response to his mere existence is, “I don’t like baby!” OK, so people have been doing this for thousands of years, right? I mean come on!
In any case, we’ll see how things pan out. I 1: don’t have any curriculum planned, 2: don’t have anything scheduled, and 3: have nooooooo idea what I will be even doing tomorrow. Ummmmm……….yeeeeeeeeeah. Summer’s already shapin’ to be a real humdinger. Not!
